My central air conditioning unit will not keep up during the day. Could this be a freon problem?

I have the thermostat set on 79 because it just isn’t keeping up. It still doesn’t keep up at 79 until the evenings when it cools off outside. The thermostat seems to be working because once it cools off, the unit kicks on and off like it should. I don’t know if my ducts needs to be cleaned or if this could be a freon problem.
